Muse bassist, Christopher Wolstenholme, has made it a form of art to use pedals and effects to mimic rough synth bass sounds. When you listen to his cool bass lines, it is obvious that fuzz pedals are a key element in this tone quest.
Reportedly, he doesn’t just rely on one favorite fuzz pedal, but uses a wide range of pedals, depending on how the guitar sound is for any particular tune. He is extremely aware of how the bass and guitar sounds have the potential to ‘clash’ and fight for the same frequencies in the mix, and in order to avoid that from happening, several pedals are required.
But hey, it fits right into our philosophy that you can never have too many pedals – only too few feet!
