WARMTH

The first dimension to explore is WARMTH. I decided to test one parameter at a time and leave the other two in their middle positions. This doesn’t always give the big picture view, though, so I added a fourth round with some of my favorite settings, which does include subtle tube effect, but at full blend, as well as the other way around – lots of tube, but only blended in gently.

In the first three rounds, however, you can get an idea of how each of the main parameters sound and affect the overall tone. Every round will begin with a DRY version, so you can keep the original reference tone in mind as we move along.

Again, in this particular round, the CROSSOVER and MIX knobs are fixed at 50% and the WARMTH knob is tweaked bit by bit.

As you can hear, even at 25% it gets a low warmer. From 50% and onwards, it actually begins to introduce some mild overdrive.
